What to Expect from Virtual Counselling at WTC
Our Online Therapy Difference: Lived Experience + Clinical Expertise
How do you match me with a therapist who actually understands what I’m going through?
Forget Googling “best therapists in Ontario” and hoping for a lucky hit. At Women’s Therapy Centre, we use a two-step Curated Matching Process that pairs you with a therapist whose clinical expertise and lived experience align with what you're navigating — whether that's trauma, identity shifts, chronic stress, or something harder to name.
From your first session, you’ll feel seen, understood, and supported by someone who truly gets it — not just on paper, but in practice.
Is online therapy really flexible —and will it work for my busy life?
Absolutely. Whether you're in your home office, parked outside your kid’s hockey practice, or anywhere in between, our virtual therapy sessions are designed to fit your schedule and lifestyle.
We provide online counselling for women across most provinces in Canada, making mental health support more accessible, confidential, and convenient—no matter where you’re located.
I’ve tried therapy before—and it didn’t work. How is this different?
You’re not alone. Many of our clients come to us feeling like therapy in the past was “just talking” without real change. At Women’s Therapy Centre, we do things differently.
Our clinicians offer warm, grounded support and practical, personalized tools to help you actually move forward. This isn’t just venting. It’s therapy that blends professional insight with lived experience—so every session feels like progress, not just conversation.
Why choose WTC? Because you deserve therapy that feels real—not rehearsed.
At Women’s Therapy Centre, there’s no forced small talk, no vague nods, and no textbook jargon. Just genuine conversations with a therapist who sees you, hears you, and responds with thoughtful insight—not clinical scripts.
We prioritize emotional connection, cultural awareness, and lived experience, so every session feels less like a performance and more like coming home to yourself.
This vision started with our founder, Sheena McRae, who had her own journey through therapy. While the therapists she worked with were well-intentioned, many lacked the deeper world context behind her lived experiences. It left her wondering why therapy wasn’t shifting things—and delayed the healing she truly needed.
It wasn’t until Sheena connected with a therapist who both understood trauma from lived experience and had the clinical expertise to hold space for it, that things started to click. That moment inspired her to create a space where women could get it right the first time—and never have to feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood in therapy again.
