Meet Sheena – Trauma-Informed EMDR Therapist Supporting Women, Parents, First Responders & Divorce Recovery

Sheena is a trauma-informed therapist offering online therapy for women, mothers, first responders, and educators across Ontario and most Canadian provinces. She is trained in EMDR therapy—a powerful, evidence-based approach for healing PTSD, relational trauma, and depression. She provides compassionate, somatic-based support for clients navigating complex trauma, anxiety, burnout, parenting stress, and the emotional weight of caregiving or crisis response work.

Her work is shaped by her own experience living with complex trauma, and her path toward healing through therapy, nervous system work, and self-compassion. She knows what it’s like to feel constantly on edge, emotionally shut down, or overwhelmed by the pressure to hold it all together.

With 17 years of experience working with teens as an educator, Sheena brings deep insight into emotional resilience, relational dynamics, and the invisible weight many women carry through parenting, caregiving, and life transitions. Her therapeutic space is grounded and affirming—rooted in compassion but never afraid to find a moment of laughter--because sometimes humour really is the best coping skill. She’s here to help you shift from survival mode into a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and maybe even a little lighter.

Behind the Bio: The Human Behind the Therapist

(Because yes, therapists are humans too—coffee-loving, podcast-bingeing, deep-feeling humans!)

Comfort Food Favourite: Pizza—especially when it’s loaded with cheese!

A Highly Recommended Read: What Happened to You by Bruce Perry is a must for mental health insights. For fiction, The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is a favourite, and there’s always room for a bit of romantasy—Sarah J. Maas never disappoints!

A Go-To Way to Unwind: Nothing beats a good book, a warm cup of tea, and the company of sweet pups after a long day.
